Supervisors Approve Maximum Property Tax Dollars For Fiscal Year 2023

Oskaloosa, Iowa – The Mahaska County Board of Supervisors held their first meeting of March on the 7th, at 9 am inside the 3rd-floor conference room of the Mahaska County Courthouse.

After going into the public hearing for the Fiscal Year 2023 Maximum Property Tax Dollars, no one from the public spoke or submitted a written comment about the measure.

After leaving the public hearing, Chair Mark Groenendyk read the resolution aloud, which indicated that Mahaska County general county services were increasing by 2.87% from the 2022 budget. The amount to be collected is $6,769,200.00.

The resolution also indicated that rural county services would increase 2.46% from the previous year. This year the amount to be collected is $3,196,337.00.

The Board also made a motion to approve a resolution approving and authorizing an application for a USDA Rural Business Development Grant to help fund improvements to 275th Street within Mahaska County.
