Scorpil Still Ranked at 133 Pounds in Fifth Set of Polls

Oskaloosa–The William Penn men’s wrestling team again has four athletes rated in the league as the NAIA released its fifth set of polls this week.

As a program, WPU is tied for 50th in the nation with six points. 133-pounder Lane Scorpil (Sr., Columbus Junction, Iowa, Business Management) accounts for all of the points as he is 21st at his weight class.

Grand View tops the country with 261 points, while Life (Ga.) is right there as well with 259 points. Southeastern (Fla.) (231) is also in the mix, while Indiana Tech (193) and Oklahoma City (176) wrap up the top five.

Inside the Heart of America Athletic Conference, the Statesmen are 10th with 33.5 points, while GVU is first (222).

Scorpil tops WPU in fifth, while Brody Brisker (Fr., Wilton, Iowa, Sports Management) is sixth at 149 pounds. 184-pounder LaDainian Gordon (Jr., Centennial, Colo., Nursing) is rated eighth, and 125-pounder Gentry Walston (So., New Sharon, Iowa, Human Resource Management) is ninth.
