Road Now Open In Poweshiek County Brush Fire

Searsboro, Iowa – A brush fire in rural Poweshiek County has 3 fire departments busy containing the fast spreading flames that is being fueled by 29 mph wind gusts.

The Iowa DOT tweeted out at 5:06 pm that Highway 146 north of Searsboro, between County Road F62 and County Road F46 (near Searsboro), was closed. A quick call to the Poweshiek County Sheriff’s Office helped confirm that the road is now open.

Dispatch in Poweshiek County said that 3 fire departments are still on scene.
