The Iowa National Guard will host a rededication ceremony commemorating the completed renovation of the Oskaloosa Readiness Center, 2260 U.S. Highway 63 North, Oskaloosa on Saturday, Oct. 15 at 3 p.m. Iowa National Guard leadership and representatives from federal, state, and local governments will participate in the ceremony. The public and media are welcome and encouraged to attend this ceremony.
The Oskaloosa Readiness Center was originally constructed in 1994 with 25,187 square feet of space at a cost of $1.5 million. The recently-completed $2.1 million renovation project began in October 2015 and provides for new administrative and recruiting offices, classrooms, storage, a new fitness center and equipment maintenance bays. New windows and doors were added, as well as heating-ventilation-air conditioning, plumbing, and electrical upgrades to meet current energy efficiency requirements.
Work within the motor vehicle storage building included a surface equipment maintenance area and tool and parts storage. Upgrades were made to comply with federal, state and local codes. The project was designed by Design Alliance, LLC of Waukee, Iowa and constructed by Pro Commercial, LLC of Huxley, Iowa.
The Oskaloosa Readiness Center is home to Detachment 1, 3654th Maintenance Company. Approximately 70 Soldiers are assigned to the Oskaloosa Readiness Center.
