Ready, Set, Easter Egg

Sarah Heltsley help prep just a few of the nearly 1500 Easter Eggs for the upcoming hunt at William Penn
Oskaloosa, Iowa – Spring dresses may need to be replaced with a summer dress for Easter this year if the weather trend continues.
A few students at William Penn were preparing for what has become an annual tradition, not only for many families, but for Wm. Penn as well. This will be the groups 6th year of hosting the Easter Egg Hunt.
A stop by the PAC today caught Sarah Heltsley prepping eggs, even while most everyone was out enjoying the warm weather.
Last year the event was sponsored by PASS (Programming Activities for Students by Students). PASS normally does events and functions for the school itself, but this event allows them to interact more with the community. PASS is once again hosting the egg hunt.
The group is currently working on filling at least 1500 eggs for this years hunt that is set to happen on Tuesday April 4th at 4:00. “This year we have plans that if it does rain, we’ll put it inside here on the turf,” said Levi Tarbell, Director of the PAC and Student Activities at William Penn.
Same as in past years, there will be 3 “Golden Eggs” that will get a special surprise from the Easter Bunny for those age 4 and under.
Complications due to bad weather caused a lower than normal turnout last year, and they hope to prevent that this year. Even with the low turnout, the action was fast as kids quickly moved around collecting.
