Quintet Pick Up NAIA Scholar-Athlete Recognition

Oskaloosa–Five members of the William Penn men’s volleyball team were honored for their outstanding academic achievements by being named 2025 Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athletes.

Leading the way was Luke Luckfield (Sr., Honolulu, Hawaii, Software Engineering), who posted an impressive 3.95 Grade Point Average entering the spring semester.

Following him was Andrija Miranovic (So., Podgorica, Montenegro, Business Management) with a 3.63 GPA, Joao Gabriel Filippelli (So., Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Business Management) with a 3.62, and Luka DeJong (So., Knoxville, Iowa, Biology) with a 3.61.

Also excelling academically was Britten Beallis (Jr., Naperville, Ill., Sports Management) with a 3.58 GPA.

Luckfield is now a three-time honoree, while Beallis secures his second award. Miranovic, Filippelli, and DeJong are all receiving the award for the first time.

To be eligible for the award, athletes must maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or above on a 4.0 scale, have attended the nominating institution for one full year prior to nomination, and must appear on the sport’s eligibility paperwork.
