Pella Pro Life Group Shares Message During Hour Long National Spotlight

Sherry Horn of Pella Pro Life displays signs on Sunday afternoon at the intersection of A Avenue and Market in Oskaloosa.
Oskaloosa, Iowa – Standing at the intersection of Market and A Avenue on Sunday afternoon was a group of individuals bringing attention on the subject of abortion.
Sherry Horn, is one of those individuals who was expressing her opinion on the subject. She held signs at the intersection from 2 to 3pm in the afternoon, as part of a nationwide effort to bring their pro life message to others, and is affiliated with Pella Pro Life.
The event is coordinated nationally by National Life Chain.
“We’re standing up for the voiceless”, said Horn. “The preborn that are aborted. Over a million a year in this country”.
Horn said that she has been participating for 25 years in favor of pro life. The event takes place every year on the first Sunday in October, from 2 to 3pm. “We have like minded people around the country and Canada, as the same time”, bring attention to their belief.
Horns beliefs stem from a time in her life when she moved from California to Iowa 27 years ago, “with 4 of my children”.
“The last child that I had was forced on me, and I contemplated aborting her. Thankfully, I didn’t. But I think that gave me the passion to realise women can get in situations where they feel they have no option. We’re just there to show women there is an option. My baby is now 27 years old and she has given me a beautiful granddaughter. I am here to promote life”.
Horn said beyond the message they shared on Sunday afternoon with passerby’s, the group also hosts a program that gives away baby clothing, located at the New Hope Community building.
The debate has continued on in America since a 1973 U.S. Supreme Court decision in Roe v. Wade, that a right to privacy under the Due Process Clause of the 14th Amendment extended to a woman’s decision to have an abortion.
The debate with the 1973 continues to this day to include issues whether, and to what extent, abortion should be legal, as both sides of the debate continue to promote their views from the grassroots level up.
