Oskaloosa’s Mayhem Roll Over River City

The Oskaloosa Mayhem Girls skated past their opponents, the Dames of Anarchy 277 to 37 Saturday night at the PAC
Oskaloosa, Iowa – Oskaloosa’s very own Mayhem Girls, or OMG, hosted their first bout of the year at the PAC in Oskaloosa Saturday night, taking on the River City Dames of Anarchy.
The prep began the day before with laying and installing the special surface used for roller derby. Sunday was used to pack it all back up after the OMG rolled past their opponent 277 to 37.
“It was a super fun bout; we had a great time. These girls [Dames of Anarchy] are awesome to play with.” said a smiling OMG ‘Spankins’ after the completion of the bout. She went on to say they were extremely happy with the amount of spectators that made their way out to the PAC Saturday night. “We kind of threw this together last minute and to have the community come out to support us, awesome. It really is awesome.”
“It’s great to be in Osky with the win,” says ‘BAMF’ of the Oskaloosa Mayhem Girls, who’s normal venue is the Bridge View Center in Ottumwa.
“I think they did well tonight,” was what George Toubekis, one of the couches for OMG had to say about the teams performance, saying that conditioning played a factor in the victory. He also hopes that the win will help the team to grow and draw in new members to the over one-year-old team.
The team’s next bout is May 12th versus the Eastern Iowa Outlaws at the Bridge View Center in Ottumwa. Tickets for the event can be purchased through Ticketmaster or the Bridgeview box office.
