Oskaloosa JV Gets By Grinnell
The Oskaloosa JV football team beat Grinnell Monday night, at Grinnell by a score of 3-0. With the win the Indians improve to 5-1 on the season. The JV defense rose to the occasion all night against the Tigers. In the first half the defense stopped Grinnell four straight times from inside the 2 yard line to force the turnover on downs. The Offense struggled to move the ball against the tough Tiger defense for most of the night. After a Alex Chapman interception the offense was able to beat the tiger defense one time on a 50 yard screen pass from Keaton DeKock to Jayden Van Roekel to set up the what would be the games only points. From there Jacob Kime split the uprights from 32 yards out with about 3 minutes left in the game. After Grinnell converted a 4th and 22 on a couple of questionable penalties the defense came through again and stop the Tigers on another 4th down attempt. From their the offense ran as much clock off as they could and then Van Roekel punted the ball out of bounds leaving only five seconds on the clock. Grinnell’s last play was knocked down by Drew Sams ending the game. The JV team travels to Norwalk Monday night with kickoff scheduled for 5:30.
