Oskaloosa, Iowa- The Oskaloosa City Council met in regular session Monday evening at 6:30 PM in City Council Chambers. The Council first approved the consent agenda. During public comments, the Council heard from Cor VanEgmond. VanEgmond expressed concerns about topsoil being replaced during the North 7th and J ave East Sanitary Sewer Project.

The next action for the Council was the appointment of two individuals to different Boards/Commissions in Oskaloosa. The Council unanimously approved the appointment of Pete Settimi to the Water Board and Wanda Gardner to the Historic Preservation Commission.

The Council next approved the specifications for the North 7th and J Ave East Sanitary Sewer Project unanimously. Their next form of action was the awarding of the contract for the project. The Council unanimously voted to award the contract to Synergy Company from Bondurant.

The next item was the approval of the audit report and to authorize the payment of $7,900 to Martens & Company and $625 to the Auditor of the state. A representative of the auditor’s firm was on hand to receive questions. The Council unanimously approved the filing of the report.

Lastly, the Council went into closed session under Iowa Code section 21.5.1.c to discuss legal matters.

The next meeting of the Oskaloosa City Council will be on November 21st at 6:30 PM in the City Council Chambers.
