Oskaloosa Boys Tennis Team Struggles in Conference Tournament, Eyes District Play

The Oskaloosa boys tennis team competed in the conference tournament on Wednesday, May 1st, at Norwalk. It was a perfect day for tennis, with no wind disrupting the players’ focus. However, Coach Tony Witt noted that his team couldn’t capitalize on the favorable conditions.

“The kids finally had a great day for tennis with no wind for a change,” Witt said. “However, the boys did not have the best day on the tennis courts today and didn’t come away with any wins for the team on Wednesday.”

After playing a meet the previous night, the team seemed unprepared to bring their best performance to the conference tournament. Witt observed that the boys “came out a little flat today unfortunately and were not ready to play after having the meet the night before.”

Despite the disappointing results, Witt expressed optimism about the team’s ability to regroup and refocus for district play next week.

“The boys will look to refocus and be ready for the district play next week,” he stated.
