Oskaloosa Bowling Teams Dominate Newton: Boys Stay Undefeated, Girls Extend Winning Streak

The Oskaloosa boys and girls bowling teams continued their impressive seasons with a sweep over Newton on Saturday. The boys remained undefeated at 10-0, while the girls improved to 9-1 on the season.

The boys team delivered a dominant performance, securing first place with a total of 3,056 pins, well ahead of Newton’s 2,871. Leading the way was senior Trey VanWyk, who bowled a perfect 300 game in his first round. This marked the first perfect game of his career. He finished with an outstanding 523 two-game series. Teammate Marshall Seibert also excelled, achieving his season’s best game of 259 and his highest two-game series at 484. The team’s dedication to refining their techniques, particularly their releases, has paid off in spectacular fashion.

On the girls’ side, Oskaloosa claimed victory with a total of 2,198 pins, surpassing Newton’s 2,097. The team has now won nine consecutive meets since their season-opening loss to Sigourney. Sidney Thompson led the girls with a high game of 214 and a two-game series of 395. Ava Ridenour contributed significantly as well, posting a 188 game and a 342 two-game series.

The Oskaloosa bowling teams are showing no signs of slowing down as they continue to build momentum heading into the latter part of the season. Both teams demonstrated their depth and commitment to excellence in this latest matchup.
