North Mahaska students voted this week and tabbed Trenton Hol and Madison Hol as their 2024 homecoming king and queen. The couple was crowned during the coronation and pep rally held Thursday night.

NEW SHARON – North Mahaska students voted this week and tabbed Trenton Hol and Madison Hol as their 2024 homecoming king and queen. The couple was crowned during the coronation and pep rally held Thursday night.

Trenton and Madison will reign over the remaining homecoming activities including Friday’s ball game with Madrid and culminating with Saturday’s homecoming dance. They were selected by the high school student body from the following candidates: Queen candidates include Riley Doonan, Maddie Hol, Breckyn Schilling, Regan Grewe and Kayla Readshaw. King candidates are Lucas Nunnikhoven, Jack Kelderman, Hunter Wernli, Trent Hol and Asher DeBoef.

Thursday was a busy day for the students as they wrapped up competition during the week with the parade through downtown New Sharon and the coronation and pep rally. Theme for the week was “In a game of Xs and Os, Warhawks go for the Gold.”

Game time Friday is 7 p.m. The dance will be held Saturday from 8:30-11:30 p.m.
