NM Boys Eight at SICL Meet

OSKALOOSA – North Mahaska and the other South Iowa Cedar League boys golf teams took on the challenging par-72 course at Oskaloosa Golf on Tuesday. The meet was postponed from Monday due to weather. Amid warm and sunny skies Sigourney topped the team scoring with a 336 with BGM behind by two strokes with a 338.

HLV’s Peyton Roth was medalist with a 75 edging Sigourney’s Solon Yates, who shot a 76. The rest of the top 10 were, third Cruz DeJong of Montezuma, 78; 4. Max Anderson, Montezuma 80; 5. BGM, Ethan Bridgewater 80; 6. Billie Kindred, Keota 80; 7. Cole Kindred, Keota 81; 8. Gage Heyne, English Valleys 81; 9. Eli Marsh, English Valleys 84; 10. Dominic Coleman, BGM 85.

Senior Nolan Andersen led North Mahaska with a 39-47 – 86. Sophomore Jaxon VanDerVeer shot a 44-43 87. Freshman Maddox Wynja shot 47-55 – 102 and junior Jack Kelderman carded a 52-55 – 107. Also playing for the Warhawks were Jeremiah Ashman 64-56 – 120 and Jacob Held 63-61 – 124.

Coach Al Hodgeman said the score was the best 18-hole score for the team this season.

North Mahaska will return to action Thursday when they host the Roger Dread tournament at Prairie Knolls.
