Missoula Children’s Theatre Auditions for “The Frog Prince”
OSKALOOSA, IA — Calling all kids! Auditions for Missoula Children’s Theatre’s production of The Frog Prince will be on Monday, January 16th at 4:00 p.m. at the George Daily Auditorium. Deep in the royal swamp, a lonely Frog retrieves a golden ball for Princess Prim in exchange for friendship and comfort, but the spoiled princess doesn’t want to live up to her end of the bargain. Luckily, the Frog gets help from the residents of the swamp and realizes that friendships are made, not bought.
The directors come to town with lights, sets, props, makeup – everything needed for a show except the actors! Approximately 60 students in kindergarten through 12th grade are needed to fill all the roles. Students wishing to audition should plan to stay the entire two-hour audition session. Audition forms are available in schools, at the George Daily Auditorium, online at www.georgedaily.org, or in the lobby before the audition. This is a group audition so no preparation is required. Students should come with a smile and be ready to have fun!
In just a week, students will learn their lines and choreography for two performances on Saturday, January 21st. A detailed rehearsal schedule will be distributed at the end of the audition. Rehearsals will be conducted Tuesday, January 17th through Friday, January 20th at the George Daily. Although not all cast members will be needed at every session, those auditioning must have a clear schedule for the entire week and if selected, be able to attend all rehearsals required for their role.
Performances of The Frog Prince are Saturday, January 21st at 3 p.m. and again at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students. For tickets or more information, contact the George Daily Auditorium box office at (641) 672-0799 or online at www.georgedaily.org.
This opportunity is made possible with sponsorships from MidWestOne Bank and the Kiwanis Club of Oskaloosa.
