For the fifth consecutive year, MCG held their eCycle event in Oskaloosa. This year’s event was held on Saturday, April 30th. A total of 59,841 pounds of electronics were collected to be recycled in an environmentally safe manner.

MCG partnered with KAL Services and Oskaloosa Trees Forever for the 2011 event. Mahaska County residents have become familiar with the benefits and the importance of recycling – and they are participating in larger quantities each year. A total of 2,294 pieces of unwanted electronics were turned in within a four hour period. MCG also collected nearly $750 in cash at the event which was donated to Oskaloosa Trees Forever.

Over 214,000 pounds of electronics have been recycled during the five years that MCG has held their e-Cycle event.
