Obituary:
Marcella Fae Younker was born August 16, 1946 in Knoxville, Iowa the daughter of Dwight and Edna (Richards) Wineland.
She was raised in Flagler and where she attended elementary school. Marcella graduated from Knoxville High School and then attended the Iowa School of Beauty. Following graduation from beauty school, she worked for several local hairdressers in Knoxville. In 1987 Marcella began working for the Iowa D.O.T., where she compiled traffic accident statistics. She was forced to retire in 1992 due to health concerns. On August 27, 1994 Marcella was united in marriage to Melvin Younker in Knoxville. In her spare time, she enjoyed camping, fishing, embroidery and ceramics. She also liked listening to music and playing with her pets. One of Marcella’s greatest joys was sprint car racing, especially rooting for her son, Alan.
She was a member of Xi Alpha tau, Preceptor Mu, the United Methodist Women and the Zion United Methodist Church.
Marcella passed away on Saturday, June 4, 2011 at the Knoxville Area Community Hospital at the age of 64 years, 9 months and 19 days.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dwight and Edna Wineland.
Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Melvin; daughter, Danielle Huffine (Darrell); Alan Zoutte (Amy); step-children: Brenda Goodnight (Jeff Saltzman), Melissa Woodhouse (Gary) and Sandra Stanton (Rod) all of Knoxville; 13 great-grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; siblings: Vera Wilkins of Knoxville, Kathy Wallace (Ernest) of Monroe, Richard Wineland (Kelly) of Des Moines and Barb Nichols (Jim) of Knoxville and many other family members and friends.
