Mahaska Y Announces 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament

Oskaloosa, June 16, 2011 – The Mahaska County YMCA will be holding a 3-on-3 basketball tournament on July 16, 2011. The tournament is open to YMCA members and non-members. Adults 18 and over are invited to organize teams of up to 4 people, to compete in a double elimination tournament held in the Y’s gym. Registration will be held June 16 – July 13, with a registration fee of $40 per team. As a prize, the winning team in the tournament will receive a refund of their entry fee.
The Mahaska County YMCA hosts the NBA: Noon Basketball Association, which meets 3 days a week on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. The Y’s ‘NBA’ is popular with both members and non-members alike, and YMCA staff anticipates a great turnout for the tournament. Sports Director Ryan Harkema said, “The field for this tournament is sure to be made up of high-caliber teams.”
