Visitation: 1:00 p.m. Monday, A Christian Wake Service will be held Monday evening at 5:00 p.m., with the family present until 7:00 p.m., to greet relatives and friends. June 20, 2011 at Garland-Van Arkel Langkamp Funeral Chapel.

Loretta Ann Anderson, daughter of Charles and Loretta Gatens Regan, was born May 25, 1918 in Iowa City, Iowa. She was a 1936 graduate of St Patrick High school in Burlington, Iowa. She moved to Oskaloosa in 1941 and attended St. Joseph’s Nursing School in Ottumwa, where she was a 1943 graduate. She worked as a nurse six years before her marriage to Fred Newton Anderson, September 3, 1949, in Burlington. In 1958, she began working at the Obstetrics Department at Mahaska Hospital, where she worked 13 years. She then began working for Dr. Larry Grahek at Mercy Clinic, where she worked 9 years, before retiring in1979. Loretta was a member of St. Mary’s Church. She enjoyed needlework, fishing and spending time with her family. Loretta’s family includes a son, Gary F. Anderson of Des Moines; daughters: Kathy Sirovy of Forest City, IA and Karen (Jurgen) Gerlach of Radford, VA; grandchildren: Jimmy Sirovy of Winnebago, MN; Doug (Carol) Anderson of Waterloo, IA; Jeff Anderson of Des Moines; Lori Gerlach of Radford, VA; great grandsons: Nolan & Nick Anderson; and a sister-in-law Carribelle (Mrs. Clarence) Witt of What Cheer, IA.
