Local Band Catches A National Eye

Making your mark in the music world is difficult, and being from Iowa can be even a greater challenge to up and coming musicians and bands, but one local group just might have their foot in the door.

Silent Skyline is a group that was known recently as just ‘Skyline’ and they have been busy playing the local scene and benefits to support the community locally.

I had recently caught up with the group where they were playing in support of a returning veteran and also Relay for Life.

Joe Anthony, lead vocalist for Silent Skyline, is excited for their appearance at The Elbo Room. The following is from the Elbo Room website: “The Elbo Room is renown for its great ambiance, exceptional sound, and continuing effort to showcase top local and national acts from a multitude of artistic genres.”

Anthony was excited in his email interview saying that, “they not only contacted us after hearing about us and apparently loving our sound” but the club made them the headliners for January 22nd.

Anthony and Silent Skyline are also excited “that once again IOWA is on the national scene for music…We have a lot of talent here in Iowa and its being seen once again.”

“We are gonna tear Chicago up with our music!”, and Anthony welcomes you to check them out on Facebook HERE.
