Little League Sign-up Begins

Locals get signed up for the 2012 Oskaloosa Little League season

Oskaloosa, Iowa – The little league season is just around the corner. The Oskaloosa Little League held their first of two sign-up days in center court of Penn Central Mall.

The sign up next week (February 4) will also include sports like soccer and Babe Ruth leagues.

Last year, about 480 kids participated in little league alone, nearly the same number the previous year. Chris Fynaardt hopes to have at least that many once again this year. This number is just kids in Oskaloosa, and not any of the local area teams that play Oskaloosa teams.

No major changes are expected this year in little league versus last year, as no major changes have been handed down at the national level.

New Sharon will no longer be a part of Mahaska County Little League, they will be joining with Montezuma and Lynnville-Sully in forming a new league.
