Library Offers Adult Reading / Viewing Program
The Oskaloosa Public Library invites adults to compare the written word with movie magic this summer. Collaborating with The Peppertree and Penn Centre Theater, adult readers and viewers are challenged to read a piece of literature as well as view the movie it is based upon.
Adults who check-out and read a book and watch the movie it’s based upon, can enter to win a “Date Night” provided by The Peppertree and Penn Centre Theater. Library books and movies checked out from the from Monday, June 20 through Friday, August 19 are eligible for the “Date Night” drawing August 19, at 4:30pm in the Adult Reading Lounge.
“Date Night” includes a $25.00 gift certificate provided by The Peppertree and a gift certificate for 2 movie tickets, 1 box of popcorn, 2 soft drinks, and 1 box of candy provided by Penn Centre Theater.
“Read the Book, See the Movie Challenge” is open to adults 18 and over with a valid library card. Library cards are free and available to the public by presenting a valid driver’s license, state ID card or college ID with proof of current address at the library’s lower level circulation desk.
For reading and viewing suggestions and challenge information, stop by the library’s adult reading lounge on the second floor where books and their corresponding movies are on display. The library has over 40 books and corresponding movie titles available at:
