LaRayne Ebelsheiser, 82, of Hedrick died Saturday, July 16, 2011, at the Hospice Serenity House in Oskaloosa. She was born Friday, February 15, 1929, in Burt, Michigan, the daughter of Roy and Rosa Morse Rumsey. She graduated from Tacoma, Washington High School with the class of 1947. Following school she went to work for AC Delco in Flint, Michigan, until it closed. On June 28, 1962, she was united in marriage to Dallas Ebelsheiser at Folkston, Georgia and he died July 23, 2006. Following her marriage she worked at Barnett Bank in Jacksonville, Florida until 1971. Lastly she worked for Children’s Home Society as a social worker for foster children until her husband became ill and she retired to care for him. She was a member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary, Cloggin’ Grannies and the Hedrick-Martinsburg United Methodist Church. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting and playing the organ. She is survived by her three daughters: Ginnie King of Hedrick, Bobbie (& Chris) Bradley of Anamosa, Machelle Parrish of Monticello, Kentucky; a son: Stephen Roy of Flint, Michigan; a sister: Jeanie of Flint, Michigan; 14 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a grandson; two brothers and four sisters. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, July 20, 2011, at 11:30 am at Brooks Cemetery near Hedrick with Reverend Bill Hornback officiating. Visitation will be held at the Fremont Funeral Chapel Wednesday after 9 am and a procession will form at 10:45 am to go Brooks Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Hospice Serenity House in Oskaloosa.
