June J. Biehn age, 81, of Pella, went to be with our heavenly father on April 21, 2020 at The Cottages at Hearthstone in Pella, Iowa. She was born in Fremont, Iowa on June 12, 1938, the daughter of John Henry Sr. and Claira Leona (Zuercher) Curtis.

June attended the Oskaloosa High School.

On September 28, 1957 she was united in marriage to Ernest M. Biehn in Omaha, Nebraska. To this union four children were born, James, Anna, Darrell and Mary.

Following her marriage to Ernest, June stayed at home to care for her children and her home. Once her kids started school she worked as a waitress in various restaurants in the area, lastly, she was a waitress at Donna’s Café.

June was a member of the O.K. Bunch and a member of the Assembly of God Church in Oskaloosa. She enjoyed dancing and camping. Above all else, she enjoyed spending time with her friends and family, especially her grandchildren.

Her family includes her children, James (& Becky) Biehn of Indianola, Anna (& Dan “Bear”) Clark of New Sharon, Darrell J. Biehn of Ottumwa and Mary (& Chris) Shives of Pella; 17 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; a brother, John Curtis Jr. of Oskaloosa; a sister, Mary Riley of University Park; and many nieces and nephews.

June was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Ernest Biehn; her parents John Sr. and Leona; three sisters, Joan Dean, Nellie Tackett and Janice Miller; her step-father, Rayford Beason; four brother-in-laws: Donald Dean, Bob Miller, Melvin Riley and Otis Tackett; and a daughter-in-law, Venetia Biehn.

A private family graveside service and burial will be held in the Forest Cemetery with Pastor Homer McBeth officiating.
Due to the restrictions put in place by the Iowa Department of Public Health to help stop the spread of COVID-19, the family will hold a celebration of life service at a later date. The Bates Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be made to the family to be decided at a later date.
