Montezuma. Joyce Snook, 86 of Montezuma passed away Thursday, June 23, 2011 at her home in Montezuma. Funeral services will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, June 27 at the Holland-Coble Funeral Home in Montezuma. Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 26 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Holland-Coble Funeral Home. Interment will be held in the Jackson Township Cemetery, Montezuma. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Montezuma VFW Auxiliary.

Joyce Snook, daughter of John Gilbraith and Florence Comstock Gilbraith was born on September 12, 1924 at Crary, North Dakota. She attended and graduated from Crary High School in 1941. Joyce worked in the ship yards in Washington during World War II following high school. Joyce was united in marriage to Raymond Snook on December 1, 1950 at Unionville, Missouri. To this union three daughters were born; Cynthia, Kathryn and Mary.

Joyce worked at Amana Refrigeration in the factory for 20 years retiring in 1987. Joyce enjoyed playing bingo, word books, playing cards, was a St. Louis Cardinals fan who loved teasing her grandsons who are Cub fans and also enjoyed rides in cars and her soaps. Her special love was her family and especially entertaining her grandchildren. Joyce was also a VFW Auxiliary member.

She is survived by her daughters Kathryn Snook and Mary (Dan) Rozendaal of Montezuma, her grandchildren Ben (Sarah) Snook, Minneapolis, Besse (Matt) Eichenberger, Montezuma, Joe (Chelsey) Rozendaal, Ottumwa, Alyson (Andrew Bishop) Rozendaal, Ames, and Cassie (CJ) Miller of Tracy; seven great grandchildren; Elouise Snook, Rylee Rozendaal, Lydia Rozendaal, Peyton Rozendaal, Tessa Snook, Haileah Eichenberger and Jaycie Miller, and her brother Reade Gilbreath, Minot, N.D.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Raymond in 1968, her daughter Cynthia Brown, her granddaughter Jessica Brown, her brothers Harlen, Howard, Orville, Gordon, John, and Roger, and her sisters Opal Williams, Vivian Link and Iva Tenennefos.
