Johnson, Moeller Set to Compete at Nationals
Oskaloosa–Showalter Johnson (So., Nassau, Bahamas, Business Management) and Justin Moeller (Sr., Keota, Iowa, Psychology) are set to battle for national glory as they compete in the 58th Annual NAIA Men’s Indoor National Championship Thursday through Saturday.
The Championship will be held in Brookings, S.D. at the Sanford Jackrabbit Athletic Complex.
Moeller enters the heptathlon ranked sixth in the nation with a score of 4,843 points. The senior begins the multi-events competition Thursday at 12:30 p.m. with the 60-meter dash, long jump, shot put, and high jump. He then concludes the event Friday (begins at 10 a.m.) with the 60-meter hurdles, pole vault, and 1,000-meter run.
Two-time qualifier Showalter begins his nationals experience with the 60-meter dash preliminary round Friday at 2:35 p.m. He is currently tied for fourth in the NAIA with a time of 6.72 seconds. The sophomore then competes in the 200-meter dash prelims Friday at 5 p.m. Johnson enters nationals 32nd in the nation at 21.85 seconds.
