Jeffrey McClun, 63, passed away Saturday afternoon, November 9, 2013, at the West Ridge Nursing and Rehab Center in Knoxville, Iowa.
Jeffrey Barton McClun, son of Frank G. Jr. and Marjorie Arlene (Bowers) McClun was born September 24, 1950, in Iowa City, Iowa. The family moved to Oskaloosa when Jeff was a young child and he attended the Oskaloosa Community Schools.
Jeff served his country in the United States Navy from 1969 – 71. Upon his discharge he returned to Oskaloosa. He married Myrna Hammond in 1972 and they moved to Texas. To this union two children were born. They later divorced.
Jeff held several different jobs through the years. He lastly managed and maintained apartment building in Helena, Montana, until June of 2011, when ill health required his return to Oskaloosa to be closer to his family.
Jeff loved the out-of-doors, animals and fishing.
His family includes his sons, Eric McClun of Glenwood, AR and Jeffrey McClun; a daughter, Jennifer (Jeff) Reed of Hot Springs, AR; seven grandchildren; his mother and step-father, Marjorie and George England of Oskaloosa; three brothers: John (Bonnie) McClun of Ephrata, PA; Gary (Debra) McClun of Fremont, Nicholas (Jody) McClun of Smithville, MO and a sister: JoDee (Loren) Van Kooten of Oskaloosa; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his father, Jeffrey was preceded in death by his wife, Myrna.
As was his wish, his body has been cremated and no services are planned at this time. Garland-Van Arkel-Langkamp Funeral Chapel is handling the arrangements.
