“Round-Up” Donations Raised $1,272.93 for YMCA Afterschool Program
OSKALOOSA, IA 3-22-2011 – Thanks to funds raised through a recent “Round-Up” campaign at the JCPenney at Penn Central Mall, more Oskaloosa children in need will continue to benefit from the educational opportunities offered by quality afterschool programming. From Dec. 1-14, JCPenney customers were invited to “round up” their JCPenney purchases to the nearest whole dollar and donate the difference to the Mahaska County YMCA . Donations raised at JCPenney’s final “Round-Up” event of the year generated $376.94 for the Y bringing the annual amount to $1,272.93 that was raised in 2010 through four “Round-Up” events held throughout the year. One hundred percent of the contributions collected directly benefit the Mahaska County YMCA in an effort to build and sustain afterschool programs in Oskaloosa. The next “round up” is scheduled for April 13-26. Join us in supporting the Y after school child care program!
