Ingold Hired to Assist Cross Country and Track and Field Programs
Oskaloosa–William Penn University Athletics Director Greg Hafner has announced the hiring of Cody Ingold as an assistant coach for cross country and track and field.
Ingold comes to William Penn after serving one season in the same role at Doane College in Crete, Neb. A 2009 graduate of Doane with a degree in exercise science, he assisted at Dana College under current William Penn Head Coach Allen Friesen during the 2009-2010 school year.
“Coach Ingold brings a wealth of knowledge to both the cross country and track teams,” Friesen said. “He is a solid recruiter and will be beneficial in bringing both teams to the next level.”
While at Doane, he assisted in creating workouts for the cross country team as well as for the middle distance runners and hurdlers on the track and field team. In addition to coaching numerous NAIA national qualifiers and All-Americans, he was also instrumental in recruiting and worked at the school’s summer track camps.
He capped off his time on the Doane staff by helping the Tiger men to a second-place finish at this spring’s national championships.
Ingold brings a surplus of success as a collegiate athlete. A two-time Track and Field All-American, he was twice named a team captain at Doane.
Ingold will begin his responsibilities at William Penn on July 1.
