Hunting for Heroes is a non-profit organization which provides resources, such as recreational therapy and counseling, to disabled law enforcement officers who were injured in the line of duty. Hunting for Heroes provides a hunting camp environment where disabled officers and their families can connect with other families that have suffered life-altering injuries. 2011 has been seen an extraordinary violent year for law enforcement officers in Iowa and across the country. According to the Officer Down Memorial Page (odmp.org) 96 law enforcement officers have lost their lives so far this year. 39 of those officers lost their lives to gunfire which is a 22% increase since last year. This website just tracks the deaths of law enforcement offices. Many more are assaulted and sustain potentially career ending and life altering injuries. To date, Hunting for Heroes is the only organization dedicated to providing disabled police officers and their families with recreational therapy and counseling services. The need is already great. Support Hunting for Heroes by participating in the trap competition July 23rd. Prizes will be awarded to the winning teams as well as several door prizes and raffles. All shooters will receive a t-shirt and a grab bag from Brownells.

Attached is the flyer for the event. For further details call Phil Pritchett at 816-918-3404.
