Hames Named NAIA Scholar-Athlete

Oskaloosa–Alyssa Hames (Jr., Ackley, Iowa, Psychology) was honored for her excellence in the classroom as she was named a 2023-2024 Daktronics NAIA Women’s Basketball Scholar-Athlete Wednesday.

Hames, who is a first-time Scholar-Athlete award recipient, owns a 4.00 Grade Point Average.

A total of 887 women’s basketball players from within the NAIA were awarded the laurel.

To be eligible for the award, athletes must maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or above on a 4.0 scale, have attended the nominating institution for one full year prior to nomination, and must appear on the sport’s eligibility paperwork.
