Gov. Branstad Signs Disaster Proclamation for Marshall and Story Counties Following Severe Storms
DES MOINES, Iowa – Gov. Terry E. Branstad today issued an emergency disaster proclamation for Marshall and Story counties in response to severe weather that occurred in that area of the state on July 10 and 11.
Severe thunderstorms capable of producing tornados passed through Iowa causing downed limbs, trees and power lines. Officials from Marshall and Story counties have requested state assistance in recovery efforts. Earlier this week, Gov. Branstad issued emergency disaster proclamations for Benton and Tama counties in response to the same severe weather.
The governor’s proclamation allows state resources to be utilized to respond to and recover from the effects of these storms.
