Golfing For A Good Cause Highlights A Day At Osky Golf

During the Oskaloosa Indian Booster Club golf outing, if a golfer got a Hole in One on Hole 1, they would win this Ford Fiesta Hatchback from Carriker Ford in Oskaloosa
Oskaloosa, Iowa – The Oskaloosa Indian Booster Club invaded Osky Golf on Saturday to raise money for the many projects they help with. Of all the money raised, the high school, middle school athletics, and fine arts are among all the activities they donate towards.
“Last year during our tournament we earned around $12,000.00 [which] we donated back to the school.” said Todd Carriker, President of the Oskaloosa Booster Club. He went on to explain that in the 2 years since they started back up, they have given “$80,000.00 back to the school in total; to be used towards the activities.”
The group is also helping to raise money for the new stadium project. In that endeavor they have helped to raise $70,000.00 for that project. They still need more help in reaching the $100,000.00 goal for that project.
This year there were 32 four-man teams that signed up to play in the tournament. After play was done, the group retired to Salami’s for an auction that featured items donated by local businesses, some sporting items such as the “Apache helmets” that use to be worn a few years ago, a fire hydrant donated by Clow that was all painted up with an Oskaloosa emblem, Iowa and Iowa State items, items autographed by Tyler Sash, and many more.
