Garigan Wins National Honor

Oskaloosa–In shutting down a top-five program, Eric Garigan (Grad., Tucson, Ariz., Master’s of Organizational Leadership) was named NAIA Men’s Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week Tuesday.

The national award, which is the first in Garigan’s career, comes on the heels of then-#6 William Penn defeating then-#4 Indiana Tech 11-7 last Tuesday.

In the victory, Garigan stopped 13 of ITU’s 20 shots on goal, while also tallying one ground ball.

For the year, Garigan owns a 7-1 record with 77 saves (.606 save percentage) and a 6.69 Goals Against Average. He has also tallied 12 ground balls. The graduate student has only allowed double-digit goals once this season (vs. then-#1 Keiser-Fla.).

The NAIA laurel is the second for WPU this year.
