FFA Students Serve Lunch To Area Farmers

Members of the Oskaloosa FFA took the time on Friday to serve lunch to farmers who are busy with the harvest.
Oskaloosa, Iowa – The Oskaloosa FFA chapter spent Friday afternoon serving lunch to area farmers as they unloaded corn at DFS on the east side of Oskaloosa.
Annie Poush, an Oskaloosa FFA member, said the lunch is a way to show their appreciation for the work they (farmers) do in feeding the rest of us.
Many times farmers will work extensive hours during the harvest, and take little time to stop for things like lunch.
The hot dogs and burgers cooked up by the FFA students allowed those farmers to get a bite to eat as they headed back into the fields.
This was the third year for the program, and like past years, the FFA bought the food and supplies from money made from the crops the students raise and sell.
Poush is looking to become a veterinarian after high school, but has always enjoyed agriculture.
