BINGO time on Tuesday afternoons is great fun for many local Oskaloosa residents

Oskaloosa, Iowa – As one of those morning social spots in Oskaloosa, the deli at Hy-Vee once again becomes a social haven when nearly 30 people gather for some fun rounds of BINGO.

Every Tuesday at 2:00 pm, the deli transforms into the local BINGO hall as friends spend time with each other and smiles and laughter take over . Hy-Vee provides some prizes, a bingo card and the players bring their own chips for the card, no other strings attached.

I don’t think M&M’s would work well, unless you have good self-control.

The tradition has been going on for about 5 years and 25 to 30 people were hand this week for all the fun.

One Oskaloosa woman, June Morrison, said she tries to make it as often as she can. Her and her friends at the table said that playing the game and socializing are big reasons they attend.

“It’s so much fun to hear somebody at your table get excited because they just got the number they’ve been wanting”, Morrison said.
