Junior men’s basketball player Chanze Cruesoe (St. Louis, Mo., Business Management) earned the Male award, while senior women’s bowler Madison Ross (Charles City, Iowa, Exercise Science) claimed the Female honor. The laurel is the first for both student-athletes.
Over the span of nine games (WPU was 9-0 during the month), Cruesoe averaged 12.9 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 5.4 assists. He also recorded 13 steals and three blocks, while shooting 58.2% from the field. The junior tallied one double-double with 10 points and 11 assists and just missed another with nine points and 13 rebounds. He reached double digits in seven contests.
Ross bowled 10 games over two tournaments, averaging 194.1 pins during that stretch. She had three games in the 200s, paced by a high performance of 240. The senior was a one-time all-tournament honoree (third place) and was the top roller for William Penn as it won the Clarke Invitational.
