Construction Underway On East Mall Parking Lot

Ripping out the old concrete to make way for the new.

Oskaloosa, Iowa – Construction on the east mall parking lot is now in full swing.

According to Oskaloosa Public Works Director Akhilesh Pal, “The scope of the project includes new concrete pavement on the mall parking lot and the public street, sidewalks, curb and gutter, with intakes and storm drains. The new parking lot will have improved vehicular traffic flow, additional sidewalks and ADA parking stalls to make it more pedestrian friendly.”

Pal added, “The construction activity on High Avenue and North A Street may reduce traffic down to one open lane, while still allowing vehicles traveling in both directions to be diverted around the localized work areas. The total construction activity will be 45 working days.”
