Community Member Helps Out at the Lacey Complex

Larry Lewis, a community member who visits the Lacey recreation complex often to watch his grandson and granddaughter play ball, volunteered to use his experience and talent trimming trees and scrubs Friday 6-16-11.

He began the project at the baseball/softball complex and will finish he says with the help of his son-in-law Clint Shaull who also visits the complex several times a week. The project, when complete, will leave the trees trimmed higher (out of reach) and the scrubs cut back a bit. “You will see a real difference next season,” stated Larry when he began the project, “some may think they are cut tall or close and look bare but the outcome will be beautiful.”

Sherry Vavra, MCRF Executive Director, repeatedly states that volunteers are the heart of the complex and anyone interested can call her at 641-672-249
