Children’s Consignment – Brooklyn’s Boutique Opens For Business

Jennifer Roberts with the assistance of Brooklyn (center) cut the ribbon to their new consignment store in Oskaloosa
Oskaloosa, Iowa- Brooklyn’s Boutique is a new children’s consignment store that opened for business just last week, and is located at 710 S. Market in Oskaloosa. The store went from an idea to reality and it’s ribbon cutting in approximately three weeks time. The Chambers Diplomats were on hand to help celebrate the occasion.
The owner of the shop, Jennifer Roberts and her husband Brandon, chose the name Brooklyn’s Boutique in honor of their daughter who goes by the same name.
The business is a family business. Jennifer and Brandon’s parents, Dan and Sue Dickerson and Ralph and Patsy Roberts, will be helping out in the store when Jennifer is working at her full time job. “They’ve been a huge help in getting the store ready.” Jennifer says of her Mother and Mother-in-Law.
The children’s consignment shop that was located in Eddyville was bought out, and the inventory moved back to Oskaloosa where the shop had been located before, under the previous owner.
Jennifer has worked in the consignment business over the past 4 years. “I really enjoy working with people”, Jennifer says of her time spent in the business.
Part of the thought with having Brooklyn’s Boutique at its new location is to make it more convenient for people; as the adult consignment store is in an adjoining space in the same building. There is a play room for children, to occupy themselves, while you shop.
The store covers all sizes from preemie to 14/16, as well as maternity clothing.
