Artists of all ages took part in the 5th annual Chalk the Walk.

Oskaloosa, Iowa – Chalk marks surrounded the bandstand in downtown Oskaloosa on Saturday morning.

William Penn’s Digital Communication program teamed up with FACE of Mahaska County, and Mahaska County United Way for this year’s event.

Chalking the sidewalks of downtown Oskaloosa officially got underway at 10 am and went until noon, with a free will donation to participate. The funds raised will be going to help fund Operation Backpack this fall.

The number of participants this year appeared to be more than in the past.

Artists created many colorful drawings, including Wonder StatesWoman (Wonder Woman in a Wm. Penn uniform), flags, fish, and a wolf, among others.
