CEW Wrestling invades Bradbury Hall

Evan Jordan (in the air) and Brian Gott (flat on his back) were Saturday Night's main event at CEW Showdown

CEW wrestling made it’s way back to Bradbury Hall, at the Nelson Pioneer Farm, once again last night for a night of wrestling entertainment.

The first match put Superfli with Angelus Layne as his manager up against Tommy Ace with Underdogg. When Tommy Ace defeated Superfli, he and Underdogg were granted a Tag Team Title shot later in the evening against Superfli and Angelus Layne.

Next up was Shawn Nautilus vs. Mack Convoy. These two battled in and out of the ring with Nautilus nearly defeating Convoy until Convoy hit him with an illegal object and stealing away the win.

The first of 2 tag team matches pitted Tim Rhodes and Simon Dean, formerly of WWE fame, against Austin Bayliss and Zach Gowen. Dean, known for selling his ‘Simon System’ of health products attempted to degrade the local fans, but the fans shot back their own choice words for the wrestler.

During the match the 4 wrestlers slugged it out. Gowen, who lost one of his legs to cancer at a young age just amazed the crowd with his abilities. He has an amazing athletic ability that equals someone that would have two legs. But, in the end, Dean once again showed his character and cheated his teams way to victory.

The next match was for the Tag Team Championship between the Champs of Superfli and Angelus Layne against the challengers of Tommy Ace and Underdogg. Layne was being choked out by Underdogg against one of the ropes when his teammate Tommy Ace disagreed with his lack of sportsmanship. While the duo were arguing it out, Layne drop kicked them simultaneously from the ropes. That lead up to Tommy Ace being pinned and the duo of Superfli and Layne retaining their belts.

Underdogg, now upset with the outcome of the match and being told off by his teammate (Tommy Ace), took out his frustrations on Tommy Ace by running him into a chair that he (Underdogg) had placed into the corner of the ring.

The main event of the evening put the challenger Evan Jordan against the current Heavyweight Champion Brian Gott.  Jordan came out of the box strong showing why he was the number one challenger for the title, but Gott showing his new mean streak and disregard for rules took the fight back to Jordan. In contact, between the two wrestlers, that echoed around the hall, the final blow came when Gott hit Jordan with the title belt knocking Jordan out and retaining his title.
