Central’s Ziskovksy wins academic honor

Central College

PELLA—For the second straight year, Central College senior Jill Ziskovsky (Dallas Center, Dallas Center-Grimes HS) has been named to the Capital One Academic All-District women’s track and field/cross country team, chosen by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Ziskovsky is a first-team selection in District VII.

A double major in communication studies and Spanish, Ziskovsky posted a 3.94 cumulative grade point average. She is a three-time academic all-Iowa Conference pick and was named a second-team CoSIDA academic all-American honoree in 2010.

Ziskovsky has earned all-America distinction seven times in her career. At the NCAA championships in May she finished fifth in the heptathlon and second as part of the record-breaking 4×400-meter relay squad.

Ziskovksy advances to the national ballot, to be voted on next week, for academic all-America honors.
