Candidates For City Office Announced

Oskaloosa, Iowa – The Mahaska County Auditor’s Office has released the names of individuals seeking office in Mahaska County. The election for these positions will take place on November 7th 2017.

In Oskaloosa, the race for the At-Large seats currently held by incumbents Tom Walling and Scottie Moore will be hotly contested, as four candidates are on the ballot.

Candidates for the 2 At-Large seats are:
*Scottie Stamos Moore
*Tom H. Walling
Charlie Comfort
Wyatt Russell

The position for mayor is also contested with incumbent *David Krutzfeldt running, with a challenge from Jeff Lorentzen.

Diane Ottoson is running uncontested for 1st Ward Councilmember, and Doug Yates is unchallenged for 3rd Ward.

In Beacon, there is no candidate on the ballot for Mayor. The five current council members of *Ron Kauffman, *Cecil D. Smith, *Richard Thomas, *Darrel Rust, and *Dwight Teeter are all on the ballot.

For University Park residents, *George Toubekis is the only person on the ballot for mayor.

City Council for University Park will be electing three members, and four candidates are on the ballot. *Sarah Kargol, *Colleen Platt, *Stephen Kelly, and David Brown.

An unexpired term ending in 2019 has *Harry David Graham on the ballot for that position in University Park.

Update* – The list of candidates for Oskaloosa City Council At-Large has been updated to indiciate that Wyndell Campbell withdrew his name from the list of candidates. Campbell did so because of State Farm rules.
