Blaylock, Terry Collect Player of the Month Accolades
Oskaloosa–The William Penn University Athletics Booster Club has announced the recipients of the January Player of the Month laurels.
Senior men’s basketball player Kevion Blaylock (Houston, Texas, Information Technology) earned the Male award, while junior women’s basketball player Morgan Terry (Cornersville, Tenn., Biology) claimed the Female honor. The accolade is the fourth for Blaylock in his career and his second in a row, while Terry is now a first-time honoree.
In nine games where William Penn went 9-0 and eventually earned the #1 ranking in the NAIA, Blaylock averaged a double-double of 22.4 points and 10.9 rebounds. He shot 60.0% from the field, 50.0% from behind the arc, and 80.7% from the free-throw line. The senior, who posted five double-doubles, also tallied 21 assists, nine steals, and six blocks.
Blaylock reached double figures in all nine outings with a high of 31 points. He received a plethora of recognition with two Heart of America Athletic Conference Player of the Week awards and one NAIA Player of the Week honor.
Terry averaged 14.7 points and 3.1 rebounds over the span of seven games. She made 65.6% of her field goals and 72.0% of her free throws. The junior also recorded 15 assists, four blocks, and two steals. She eclipsed double figures five times, headlined by a career-high 30 points.
