Accident Claims The Life Of Grinnell Resident

Another accident has claimed the life of an area resident on Tuesday, in a 2 vehicle accident, at the intersection of Interstate 80 and Highway 146.

The Iowa State Patrol reports that the 2011 Buick Lucerne driven by Marilyn Anderson of Grinnell had just exited Interstate 80 Eastbound to the Intersection of Highway 146. After coming to a stop at the bottom of the ramp, the Buick then pulled away from the stop sign to travel North on Highway 146. This is when Anderson’s car was struck broadside by a tractor trailer driven by Kerry Naylor of Marshalltown. The semi was driving South at the time of the accident.

Marilyn Anderson was killed as a result of the accident, while 2 passengers in the car were also injured and taken to Grinnell Regional Medical Center.

The accident investigation is ongoing at this time.
