Oskaloosa, Iowa – The Mahaska County Board of Supervisors met Tuesday, July 5th, at 9 am, and approved several resolutions that implemented the new fiscal year for the county.

Among those approvals were appropriations, salaries, case management, and operating transfers for fiscal year 2017. The operating transfers allow money to be moved to the needed accounts within the county budget in order for the county to operate.

Two payroll changes were approved, one for secondary roads and one for the sheriff’s office.

The sale of parcels formerly known as the county home was also approved.

Tabled until the next meeting were these agenda items: a policy update to include TMS treatment, and updating the list of individuals who sit on the Compensation Commission.

The Compensation Commission is made up of individuals from different backgrounds in the county who would set the compensation rate for land owners in an eminent domain situation.

The Board next meets at 9 am on July 18th.
