Oskaloosa–Expectations should be high for the Statesmen offense, especially the running game, as four members of the 2014 William Penn football team have been named to the USA College Football NAIA Preseason All-America team.

Offensive linemen Jake Adams (Sr., Park City, Utah, Psychology), Travis Blecher (Jr., Rock Island, Ill., Sociology), and Hea Tuifua (Jr., Salt Lake City, Utah, Undecided) and fullback Evan Ressler (Sr., Cascade, Iowa, Biology) were all picked as honorable mentions by USA Football Network, Inc. All four are coming off successful 2013 campaigns in which they earned second-team all-Midwest League recognition.

Behind his trio of blockers, Ressler picked up 728 rushing yards and three touchdowns on 154 attempts. WPU tallied 3,629 total yards of offense (329.9 per game) last year, highlighted by 3,019 on the ground.

The Statesmen, who were 5-6 last year, open 2014 by hosting Bethel (Tenn.) in Oskaloosa on August 30 at noon.
