WPU Jumps into Top 15 in National Ranking
Oskaloosa–Courtesy of huge performances last weekend, the Statesmen men’s track and field team is ranked as one of the best in the NAIA as the sixth USTFCCCA Rating Index was released Wednesday.
William Penn is currently 15th with 126.48 points, making a massive jump of 42 positions from last week’s spot of #57. WPU is first out of all Heart of America Athletic Conference programs.
Nearly all of the squad’s points are coming from the sprinting and jumping crews.
Jackson Coates (So., Aldie, Va., Engineering Technology) is headlining the navy and gold’s scoring with 26.25 points as he is fourth nationally in the long jump. Nick Richardson-Jackson (Sr., Germantown, Md.) is fourth as well in the 100-meter dash for 26.03 points. Coates is also picking up big points (15.02) for being ninth in the 100-meter dash.
Loubert Dagrin (So., Miami, Fla., Sociology) sits in sixth place overall in the 110-meter hurdles for 22.11 points, while Mofiyinfoluwa Alade (Sr., Hoffman Estates, Ill., Exercise Science) has earned 19.02 points for being seventh in the high jump.
Seven additional individuals/relays are also producing points for the Statesmen with the remaining led by Jaelen Love (Jr., Crown Point, Ind., Secondary Education) being 13th in the 200-meter dash for 8.87 points.
