WINNERS OF THE 2012 REGIONAL EXCELLENCE IN EXPORTING AWARDS ANNOUNCED

November 6 (Brooklyn, IA) – Winners of the 2012 regional Excellence in Exporting Awards were presented by Lt. Governor, Kim Reynolds on November 2nd at the “Risk and Rewards Exporting Conference” held at the Michael Manatt Community Center in Brooklyn,
· The Greater Des Moines Partnership Regional Export Award was presented to Insta-Pro of Urbandale, Iowa
· The Iowa Innovation Gateway Regional Export Awards were presented to Miraco, located in Grinnell, Iowa and Interpower Corporation located in Oskaloosa, Iowa
The regional Excellence in Exporting Awards were presented to recognize companies that are expanding their markets internationally. Recipients were chosen based on their achievements and commitment to exporting as a component of their business strategy.
“The importance of exporting from Iowa continues to grow on an annual basis. This growth is not only in agricultural products sold abroad, but in the efficient production and export of manufactured products,” said Paul Gregoire, chair of the Iowa Innovation Gateway and vice president of Human Resources for the Fisher Division of Emerson. “Celebrating the organizations that have contributed to our increasing exports is a distinct honor. They have not only shown the capabilities of our great State, but have grown jobs in the process.”
The one-day conference featured speakers from the FBI, Brownells, Engineered Plastic Components and Pulley Precision & Idler to name a few. The keynote address was presented by Michael Flaherty, Consul and Senior Trade Commissioner Canadian Consulate General Minneapolis.
